Upcoming plans…

I will still pursue getting GV Mobile on to the App Store. Depending on the outcome, I may have to rename the product to start fresh. Until GV Mobile is approved, I have rejected the binary for GV Mobile Free so it doesn’t conflict with the paid version. Windows Mobile development will continue, albeit at a slower rate.

  1. (Okay, perhaps you’re getting pageviews from apple.com…)

    Dear Apple,

Please approve GV Mobile. Thank you very much!

    Sincerely yours,

    an AAPL and GOOG shareholder
(OK, I also own YHOO, MSFT, INTC shares too)

Yeah, I missed their annual shareholders meeting. Perhaps next year. Anyhow, what would you like me to do? Wave signs that say “Free GV Mobile” at 1 Infinite Loop? Maybe I could contraqt Frank Chu for the day.

  3. “Without Apple’s prior written approval, an Application may not provide, unlock or enable additional features or functionality through distribution mechanisms other than the iTunes Store.”

What the hell does this mean? Are they talking about Google Voice providing or enabling different features? If this is the case, what about the application already in the App Store (GV Dialer)and how about Voice Central? It doesn’t sound like they are talking about the few sales you made in Ad Hoc mode that has got them all upset.

They don’t. Apple is remarkably reticent when such incongruities are pointed out.

Just to clarify, I have no harsh words for GVdialer since I have not used it myself although the user reviews at the App Store aren’t particularly encouraging. I am personally holding out for something that provides additional functionality and reliability.

  5. Did anyone notice on the VoiceCentral Blog that their app was rejected as well with no real guidance on why it was rejected?

Oh it would be nice to see that on the evening news. LOL

I bought GVDialer yesterday running 2.2.1 on my iPhone 3G and it works fine. No bugs so far. I wonder if the people complaining had older hardware. I seriously can’t wait for this one, though.

Cydia or Icy distro would help line Sean’s pockets until the App store version comes out. Sean? Listening? $$$

We paypal you and you email us each an unlock code…nuff said.

  8. While I would also love to get my hands on a version (today! right now! dammit Apple!), I am afraid that distribution through Cydia will likely make approval all that much harder. And while I have a jailbroken iPod touch, I found Cydia to be unstable (through Apple’s doing). Every os upgrade is designed to break the installer and make jailbreaking more difficult. Thus, while I would love to have the app now; I would rather be patient and have a stable application that comes with the relative promise that it will work across a minor software update.

  9. So a Baby Shaking app gets approved but GV Mobile does not? Come on Apple. How about approving some useful apps for a change.

in this link you can request an Application, by the developers name, name of the app and what it does and you can leave a comment . .
It does ask for you name and email . . (but hey I have plenty of emails I dont use
and at the end you get this generic message
Thank you for your feedback on iTunes.
We cannot respond to you personally, but please know that your message has been received and will be reviewed by the iTunes Team. If we need to follow up with you on your ideas for improving iTunes, we will contact you directly.
We appreciate your assistance in making iTunes better.
    iTunes Team
I am not saying this will make a differnce but if you all feel like letting them know how we feel lets do this collectively and maybe we can start the ripple that begins the wave . .

  11. I dont see where anyone has mentioned this today but to access your GV account via cell as of today you have to enter a pin number. This i assume will addressed on GV Mobile
