GV Mobile Free update…

April 4th, 2009

I got an email from Apple today (Saturday – weird, I know) stating that GV Mobile Free would require unexpected additional time for review.” I guess I can understand the need for more time to review – I mean, GV Mobile Free is sooo (3 more o’s for extra sarcasm) technologically advanced that standard reviewing practices don’t apply. I expect a similar email to come Monday or Tuesday for GV Mobile premium…Enjoy the weekend folks!

    Sean, hope you’re not getting hosed by an unannounced version coming out from Google.

    @MischievousYou would see it first on their Android based phones. Only the very simple apps get approved in a week. I’m sure Apple would do anything to get GV Mobile approved faster if Google cried foul.

    Google voice search was out first on iphone, so perhaps not. Much bigger market for iphone than android……so far. Anyhow, here’s to yours getting approved, and soon. Rubel and others have noted it’s existance, so lots of anticipation.

    Maybe AT&T is whining around about it? They will sell me fewer minutes when I get this.

    Why would you buy fewer minutes Bob… you will still go through minutes with grand central – the only difference will show that you received a call from your Grand Central number. If you are in the US, there is no difference.

    personally Sean, i wouldn’t nay say anything about apple at this time. politically it may hinder your efforts to get approval, its already been stated by you that an apple employee has visited the site, for all you know it could be me, and i use my home computer to check in on the site as well, i assure you its not, but i think I’ve made my point. i understand the need to vent, but big brother could be watching. on the other hand… fuck em’ if they can’t take it.

    I don’t know about you guys, but it seems to me the more important and usefull an app is the longer it takes to get approved, or denied completely… Damn sean can I just send you the payment and lets do this ad-hoc style…and I’m not joking, I’m serious as a heart attack…

    Or maybe no one at Apple has a GV account to try with and are waiting to have their GC account migrated ;)

    @Manuel Haha…

    @Andre I provided them with a demo GV account (courtesy of Scott Gruby)…I’m sure they are just testing the waters.

    Gives me more time to think about how I want to redesign things… :)

    LOL, an above commenter said AT&T would wine about it. Im not sure why, but I can see why my provider T-mobile might whine about it. Thanks to grand dialer, Ive never used a single minute

    I’ll be using it to call my skype in number after push notifications ships in 3.0.

    @Quash
    Ditto… Love how little I pay a month now even with full internet. Lovely.

    Ten bucks says Apple demands Sean remove the SMS feature because AT&T complains about lost SMS revenue.

    I can’t wait until Apple ditches exclusivity with AT&T. I will bail the very second they do.
