    Adding a new “call from” number, making it active and deleting an old entry causes the app to crash

    @Greg
    if you want the free version your going to need to sign up for a US itunes account, and just make up a address 1 infinite loop is a good one. and choose none for the payment mode.

    You can then download and install any free apps from the US itunes store.

    IF you wanna buy the premium version your gonna need an itunes gift card. from the US

    Hello All,

    I downloaded both, they both work beautifully. Removed Free (just wanted 2 try it out). I really hope you keep us up & running Sean & don’t abandon us like GrandDialer/GGT Enterprises, LLC did (IF Google changes something else in the near or distant future?)! Since we’re spending money this time around (grant it only $3, but it still be nice to have this app working for a long time down the line).

    …and thank you Sean for your persistence & hard work! I’m very happy they made their way to the app store… finally (better late then never…, right?)!

    I’m glad the issue has finally been resolved, and that we can finally enjoy your hard work.

    Once again, thank you for your constant updates and for being so committed!

    Hi Sean,

    Question for you- do you have any plans to show the SMS history? For iPod touch users, this would be a huge benefit. I can SIP the GV call, but I can’t get SMS via the SIP phone… would love to have the SMS history available. This is one of my primary uses for the mobile GV website on the iPod touch. Often a quick SMS via the web back and forth a few times is enough when in a meeting etc.

    Looks great, BTW!

    Hi Sean,

    I’m having a problem completing a call. It says “dialing” for about 30 seconds, and then switches to call successful without ever connecting… any thoughts on what might be wrong?

    April 24th, 2009 at 21:15

    Awesome!!!

    All this app needs is built-in SIP.

    Or, at least give me enough time to quit GV Mobile and launch SipPhone…

    I’d like to second the requests for SMS history. Bonus if you can make it look like the SMS app. Also, “Cancel” from the SMS screen doesn’t appear to do anything. Thanks Sean!

    Hi Sean. Also, when selecting a number from iPhone contacts, it appears that selecting a number for a contact with multiple numbers will not always select the correct number. :-(

    Sean… 3 words… FTW. Glad it got thru!

    April 24th, 2009 at 21:33

    I seem to be getting an error every time: “Google Voice refused to make the call…”. The number I entered is correct, as is the “phone number to call from” (why isn’t this obtained from the account rather than typed in?). Very confused!

    Your getting some great reviews except for one… Bozo thought it was a VOIP application to make phone calls from his iPod Touch. I wish people who used technology would read instructions. GV needs a phone number to ring back to so ‘NO’ application will work without a number. But I guess his point was to complain and put a ding on the record.

    I guess I misunderstood how this app works… I was hoping I could use WiFi to make a google voice call, because I don’t get great cell reception in my apt. Having to go through the cellular network significantly decreases the value of this app for me… what is the point of having it setup the way it is?

  41. kingoftowns
    April 24th, 2009 at 21:37

    @John
    john i had the same problem at first, you need to enter your actual cell number there (not your GV number) then, for me i had to turn off wifi and make my first call from the 3g network, then toggled back to wifi and everything is fine ever since.

    enter your cell number then try changing your internet connection (if you are on 3g change to wifi and vice versa) your next call will be successfull then it will work no matter which connection you use

  42. kingoftowns
    April 24th, 2009 at 21:39

    @Anonymous
    the whole point of the app is to allow you to easily send sms and place calls using your GV number as the caller ID instead of having to use the website. GV is not a VOIP application so there is no way to make it place calls over wifi, this is a GV issue not an app issue.

  43. kingoftowns
    April 24th, 2009 at 21:44

    if the iphone supported background apps then you would be able to use this with skype, you currently cant because the skype app needs to be running for you to receive a call on your iphone, then people with bad reception at home would be able to use GV Mobile to place a call, have it ring on their iphone skype app and use it all over wifi.

    I realize this has nothing to do with your app, just thinking out loud.

    thanks again for a fantastic app!!

    @kingoftowns that didn’t work for me, but I’ll give it a try again tomorrow. weird that one needs to figure this all out to make it work, though. thanks for the advice!

    Ok, I see that the issues I’m having are all in the support section. My bad, Sean. Good work and I look forward to future improvements!

    STRAIGHT FROM Google Voice Website (Please Read):

    Google Voice Basics: About Google Voice

    Google Voice gives you one number for all your phones — a phone number that is tied to you, not to a device or a location. Use Google Voice to simplify the way you use phones, make using voicemail as easy as email, customize your callers’ experience, and more.

    Google Voice isn’t a phone service, but it lets you manage all of your phones. Google Voice works with mobile phones, desk phones, work phones, and VoIP lines. There’s nothing to download, upload, or install, and you don’t have to make or take calls using a computer.

    Google Voice will let you define which phones ring, based on who’s calling, and even let you ListenInTM on voicemail before answering the call. We use smart technology to route your calls. So, if you’re already on a Google Voice call, we’ll recognize it and use call waiting to reach you on the phone you’re on.

    Note: At this time Google Voice is only available in the U.S.

    @Jay Thats how the service works. How long did you used Grand Central? GV will call you then call the number you are wishing to dial. Thats not the app, thats how Grand central, now Google Voice, has always worked!
