@AllenH Full SMS is already in the next version…
Congratulations Sean!!!
@sean That’s fantastic!
Sorry if I missed the announcement before. Excellent work, Sean! Thanks!
what changed, sean?
Sean, Awesome job! Can’t wait to put it through the paces!
@kingoftowns Thanks for your post, #41. I was having that problem until I read it.
How many downloads so far?
AWESOME thank you man!! paid version all the way!
Now that Apple has done the right thing by releasing GV Mobile, it’s now Google’s turn to do their part. They’ve had us on our toes waiting for Google Voice since the announcement, and it’s already been six weeks. It would be nice to get an approximation for the release date from Google. So guys, here is their contacts information; let them hear from us.
Their headquarters are located in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Google Inc.
1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
Mountain View, CA 94043
Phone: +1 650-253-0000
Fax: +1 650-253-0001
Thanks.
when is the premium version gonna be available in canada?
What am I doing wrong. I get an error when I try to make a call.

“Google Voice refused make the call. This may be…” (need a “to” down there)
awesome, been searching daily for it. Worried about it. Congrats!!
That’s great. Just moved from the beta to the itunes version.
i was wondering if GV Mobile will ever support more than one Google Voice number? I am using the full version for my Pittsburgh number and the free version for my Nashville number, for now. This is one spectacular app…have really been putting it to the test since yesterday everning, and i have not been disappointed in the least.
Thanks Sean! Woke up, so this message, and went straight to the app store to buy this. The features in this app are awesome! Looking forward to the full featured SMS!
I just realized… I can now stop checking this website on a daily basis… Ahhh..
Sean, everything works great! Thanks.
Future feature that I’d love to see is being able to retrieve SMS messages from the application versus having GV forward them to your native iPhone SMS program and a chat log similar to the native iPhone’s SMS chat log.
That would round out this app for me. 4/5 stars, great job!
@Jan
lol, me too
Im still gonna check this website on the daily!!
@Brooks
I see that my wishes have been asked for and are already in the works. Great, thanks again!
I WON the contest time !!! I said April 27th
Sean you said :”The first person who comes closest (down to the day) will get a promo code which entitles you to download GV Mobile premium for free” LOL
I rarely buy apps but in this case I made an exception and tossed Sean 3 bucks. So far it’s not bad for version 1. Hopefully you keep up on it and add push notification for SMS and VM when OS 3.0 is released. I’d also like to have it show voicemail transcripts.
Congrats on the approval! I’ll make sure to write you a much deserved good review on the app store. Hopefully through the forums we can keep the buzz going on this site. It would be nice to see the iPhone feature request forum back up and running. That would help us to collaborate in an effort to get you fresh ideas for future releases. So far you’ve proven yourself to be the type of proactive developer that could compete against even a Google released GV app. I for one would like to help by working with others to help with new features. For now though…sit back and enjoy the long awaited money train!
love the app its great . . very nice app . . i appreciate your dedication and commitment . .
@juicy Until a future update, type in your other account, save, close, and reopen. Not elegent, but it works.
@Ashley Came out on the 24th…
Good job! It is worth the 3 buck I paid for it for sure. A suggestion I have is to move the account settings page to the settings application, that would open up room for a favorites tab. I have lots of contacts and would like to add a few to a favorites list. Thanks!
Hi…gratz on getting it accepted. I immediately purchased the full version but I’m getting the ‘Invalid Phone Number’ error. Says my number needs to be a 11 digit number. In Settings all my numbers are synced to my GV account and my iPhone att number is there + gizmo number. What’s going on?
nice, you got a mention in lifehacker
@NotWorking
My bad…working now. I tho gv mobile would use the Phones from GV to forward calls to w/o adding the numbers again in settings.
@sean
lol, I encourage everyone to buy it! It’s a Very good app.
Thanks Sean!!
Hey Sean,
Congrats on the release to AppStore. Any idea on when you will be providing the Promo Codes to people who donated 5.98 for the ad-hoc version? Its not urgent but would be nice to be able to have them so when an update comes out we can use the newer version.
Thanks.
i should have thought of that…although using the paid edition and the free edition is just fine for now, since i dont text from my nashville number. best utility app in the apple store!
Sean, just downloaded the free version. When I put in the username (with and without gmail.com) and the password, I get an error message saying credentials are incorrect. Tried many times now. I do have google voice number and I was able to sign through google.com/voice but the same credentials don’t seem to work on gv mobile. Do you have any restrictions/validations in password characters?
@Sai Are you in the US? If not, this is your problem. If so, change your password to hello1234 and try again. Please send me an email in the future. While I do monitor the comments, I don’t see everything…
Got it. Cool!
Enhancement request:
easy-access “do not disturb” set and clear, plus a big warning when it is set.
Thanks!
I jumped right in with the paid version. I’ve been waiting for this app for some time now. Thank You!
@Steve Jano
Steve, remove the @gmail.com from login username.
@sean
As Dan stated below, being able to see the transcriptions for voice mail is a huge plus. Also, having SMS work with push servers for 3.0 would be great as well. I rarely buy apps but made exception with this. So far I love the app and those improvements would be great.
@Ashley
Hey Ashley, send me your paypal email address and I’ll send you $2.99… I just realized that I said whoever comes closest to the day, and you did. Sorry

Hey Sean,
Thanks for all that you have done with this application. You were gracious enough to give us a version of this app to replace the features that we lost from GrandDialer and chose not to charge us for it. Then, you’ve made the paid version so full of great features, it was worth paying for. I’m very excited to hear that you will be including a full featured SMS in the next update.
Just so that we know what we are waiting for, could you list what those features would be? Will we be able to receive our SMS messages within your app? As others have asked, will we be able to see SMS history, or some sort of chat thread? Also, will we be able to have the ability to not have the 1 prepend in front of the number we are SMSing? I have a few SMS addresses that I send to that use the short code SMS address (5 digits, doesn’t start with a one), and I like to be able to send to those addresses. I’m guessing those might not make it into the app if they violate the app store rules or something. Anyways, it’s just nice to know what I have to look forward to. I’m also going to email this to you, but I figured other people who read the posts are probably curious as well of what full featured SMS will entail. Thanks for actively reading your user’s posts and answering these questions. I’m sure you are busy enough coding (or apologizing to your wife for being busy coding).
Cheers,
Tyler
just discovered you can’t text the short SMS numbers, even from the google voice’s website.
@sean
YEAHHH! Thanks Sean, I will write you on your email to send you my paypal email address in private. Thanks Again!
will the next version allow receiving sms to the app and also will it be possible to send an sms from my GV contact list as opposed to putting my contact list on my iphone’s? Thanks great app.
Will the next version be free for those who purchased this one?Im assuming yes. Thanks
@sean
LOL, Just try to send you an email but the delivery to your email failed.
Anyways, Take my paypal email address here: chriva85@hotmail.com
Thanks again
