Sent follow up emails…

I sent follow up emails to the App Review team requesting a status update. More transparency is needed.

Hopefully the response is quick. Even at $2.99 for GVDialer it still doesn’t compare to your Free Version or even comes close to your Premium one.
Just out of curiosity – how long did it take to approve Service Bell?
I’m dying over here.
@Bob 4 business days
Thanks Sean for keeping us up to date.
one more question regarding SMS, when i send a text from your app will it show up on the website? currently if i send a text direct to a (406) mapped number it doesnt show on the website.
thanks again
If you send a text to a 406 mapped number it should DEFINITELY show up on the website, as of course, it’s hitting the big Goog.
It certainly does for me.
@Kingoftowns Sending text via my app will show on the site.
Sounds weird to me – maybe Google is planning an app too and Apple is kissing their butt instead. Hmmm….
Sean, I find myself checking your blog every day to see how it goes. Thanks for updating so much.
@Andrew Warner Thanks! I try to keep things lively around here, even with the absence of any real news.
I can’t wait for your app! I’m using FriendFeed to merge your blog posts and twitter updates into one list. Saves me some time…
@Vishal
That makes no sense since Apple has already approved another app (GVDialer).
@guest
You’re assuming that the Apple approval process makes even a lick of sense.
@James Scherber
I still have hope. Perhaps I’m a fool…
@Andrew Warner
Yeah, I am checking this site every day. Come on Apple.
@James Scherber Haha…
I’m expecting the worst, But hoping for the best.
@Jason K
I tried out GV Dialer and let me save everyone time and money it isn’t worth a shit, I could not even get it to make a call. The only thing it seems to do is allow access to your settings and voice mail.
I hope this happens soon, and works right. I’d die if there were any issues as it was released
@Steve I’d die too – but I’m confident my testers found all the bugs, and me fixing them.
@sean
I pay good money for bug-free software.
and I pay drug money to keep the cops from my hydroponics…
Sean, I find myself visiting your blog everyday now for some update, anything, about your app. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Please let the Apple Powers That Be get it out already!
I really dont get why just dont you put it on cydia? Apple seems to not want to approve for other reasons. What upsets me is I cant even get another google voice account and im a Stock holder!!!!!!
@lvmuscle
maybe for a funny thing called money?
Jeez…I am dying for this app!
haha I got to play with GVDialer… I hope this program doesn’t have the lag GVDialer does. 34secs to connect from the phonebook. I hope this app gets approved soon.
I am obsessively checking for this app two or three times a day. Is this healthy?
@Jason K My understanding is GVDialer uses the method of dialing your Google Voice #, then 2, then the number to dial? If this is true, the reason it takes so long is not because the app sucks, it’s because Apple does not let developers send pound (#) signs to the iPhone dialer. Google looks for this # sign as a signal to start the call…since we can’t send it, it takes a long time to initial the call. Google does have a timeout period (10 seconds after dialing the full sequence) in which it makes the call even though the # sign wasn’t sent (or pressed). GV Mobile doesn’t use this method, rather it uses internet based commands.
@Eric I think I’m checking my email more often for approval emails…can’t be healthy
@Sean
That makes sense. That’s the reason why the blackberry version makes the call so much quicker (allows #).
@Jason K Exactly! It’s weird how Apple locks down soo many things. Really makes for a terrible end-user experience.
@Sean, thanks for the update again. I’ve been checking my RSS feed from you daily for updates on GV Mobile. Apple needs to get this through, fast!
@Justin Employees from Apple have been visiting the site today, last Saturday and Monday (and prior). I can’t read too much into this, but none the less, I am getting some attention.
Dear Mr. Jobs: please approve the GV Mobile app. Sincerely, an Apple shareholder
Skype allready has an update and still no GV Mobile! “This is Bull Shit”. I know this is not your doing Sean. I think Google might be the Puppet Master and Apple the puppet!
APPLE EMPLOYEES:
It is imperative that this application get approved. In todays time of supply and demand we have seen a driven force in the economy to give consumers what they need, before the demand is circumvented into other options. It has been an overwhelming response on this and other forums that the requested application GV Mobile be allowed in the Apple store. The great thing about Apple is its desire for diversity and repetition in the applications it allows. You have not however allowed that for former Grand Central customers now Google Voice. We have NO options outside the other poorly developed application. It is your duty to prevent Monopolization for one application to dominate in your store when other applications will give users the freedom and satisfaction of using service that we daily rely on. I . . excuse me WE implore you to approve your process of GV Mobile and allow users world wide to be able to continue to enjoy their apple products along with the software properly designed for it as well. I am not paid nor do I have this product yet, however it is evident that the people request you take the steps necessary to give the customer what they want. I know business practices and very familiar with processes however I am also aware as a business owner that when something needs to be done its not about what you know but who you know. So please talk to who you know and get that three letter word so many of us are dying to hear . . . “YES” because as the people say today “YES YOU CAN” APPLE . . “YES YOU CAN” approve this application and enjoy the satisfaction of customers appreciative and more importantly continuingly spending their money.
Sincerely
Q
@Manuel Who knows…I know there are two people from Apple consistently accessing my RSS feed daily, multiple times a day. Apple has solo developers by the balls – what can we do? Advice would be appreciated – Cydia is not an option, right now.
@sean Seems like you, and the rest of us, will just have to wait it out. If Cydia is not an option… “(Ad-Hoc)”
@Task Cydia has a store – you can pay and download apps BTW.
@Vishal With the risk of Apple voiding my dev application. Not a risk I’m willing to take.
@Manuel This in theory could work in limited fashion…would be hell to deploy to several hundred people.
@seanLet’s get it started.
$20 right now.
I wonder if Apple is letting Google look under the hood at your app, then Apple will deny it and then Google will release their version. Not sure about the agreement you signed but is this possible (albeit sleazy if it is). The possible upside, maybe Google wants to license your app.
Sean, can you imagine if Google licensed it? You could retire to St. Thomas.
@James St. Thomas…bump that, Hawaii dude, lol.
