    Thanks for this, Sean! Even though I paid for the original version on the App Store, and I liked it, I have removed that version and just installed the Cydia one, so I can get on board and get updates.

    It’s not working though, after I type in my username and pass, it boots me right back to the Springboard. I have removed and reinstalled, and also rebooted the iPhone. It still doesn’t work. All my other apps work fine (on a 3GS.) Any hints?

    Is this the new version, or the one that was already on the app store? and does this install an all new seperate version of the app or will this overwrite the iphone app?

    It’s crashing to springboard for me too. Rebooting doesn’t help.

    i had the free one installed from the app store. i unistalled it then installed this full version from cydia. it had my phone number still saved in there.

    so is it that my old info is still stored on my phone in a preference file? will deleting it fix the problem? where is that file and what is it called?

    July 28th, 2009 at 14:14

    Reinstalled the App Store version until the crashing problem is fixed. Glad it was still saved in my iTunes :)

    Looks like it’s an issue, big thanks to Sean for putting it on Cydia to begin with.

    If apple gives me a refund he is getting the $3 directly..fuck apples’s 30% take

  15. July 28th, 2009 at 14:26

    Sean,
    I too am having this issue — But I’m writing to say, you need a way for us to pay you for this app directly… Maybe a Google Checkout option or Paypal? I love it and I will gladly give you the $3.

  16. July 28th, 2009 at 14:27

    @Jesse Middleton
    As I just realized that you have a donate button — Is this setup so we can send you the moolah? Thanks.

    I cant seem to even find it on cydia, was it pulled to be fixed?

  18. July 28th, 2009 at 14:29

    Hey.. Just realized. Now that it’s on Cydia, you can do all sorts of cool things like Hijack the dialer and replace the SMS app. So, we can *really* screw over AT&T now! Woohoo!! Please, please, please!

    Crashes for me too. I am sure you are hard at work to get it fixed, so i can be patient.
    Mad props from me to you (and, of course, a PayPal donation once i get the thing up and running)

    July 28th, 2009 at 14:36

    So, with it being on Cydia, will it have push notifications etc? how do we “Hijack the dialer and replace the SMS app. “

  22. July 28th, 2009 at 14:43

    I sent the wrong binary…should be up soon. No push for apps not on App Store.

  23. July 28th, 2009 at 14:45

    @sean
    How about hijacking the dialer?

  24. Davin
    July 28th, 2009 at 14:48

    Cylay has push and it in in Cydia.

    Cylay has push and it is in Cydia.

  26. July 28th, 2009 at 14:58

    This looks to be a fantastic application…as soon as Cydia has one that actually signs in, I’m sending my money :) . Keep on developing my friend!

  27. July 28th, 2009 at 14:59

    Actually, one more comment…the GV Mobile icon on the springboard is about 3px lower than the rest of them. Could you fix that…it makes me fucking mental! :)

    As many have already said, thank you for your efforts. Altough I currently cannot make use of all it’s features, (I have an ipod not iphone) I will be getting an iphone soon, and developers like you are what make the jailbroken community great. Once it’s all patched and all the bugs are unkinked it will easily be the #1 reason I’d give to people as to why they should jailbreak.

    Sean thank you SO MUCH. While it would have been cool to have Google come out with one that did SMS Push (yeah right) — I’m happy to have the best Google Voice app for the iPhone.

    Expect me to toss you a few bits when I get a chance.

    Am I correct in assuming it now requires a jailbroken iPhone to work? I wish I had purchased this before Apple pulled it but I didn’t know it existed until I read it was pulled. I would gladly pay the $3 for a working version.

    July 28th, 2009 at 15:15

    @Frogstik
    If you want GV SMS Push, you can use Growl and Prowl. Requires a few small add-ons for Firefox (Greasemonkey, etc) and a computer with a Firefox window open at all times to work, but it accomplishes the goal. Until a better solution is available, it’s what I use, and it works great.

    @deftOne that might be a good solution, I have a crappy little laptop doing nothing. Might be time to slap a light install of linux on it for that kind of thing. U have a link for this solution?

    Same issue as Pasha — 1.2.1 lets me log in, and works properly, except that the “Remember Me” option does nothing and is reset to “OFF” whenever I restart the application.

    works for me as well…thanks sean!

    Correction — it saves NONE of my settings. Username, Password, Remember Me, additional Phones to ring, Dial On Click, and Auto Refresh are all reset to their defaults when the app is restarted.

  45. July 28th, 2009 at 15:42

    @kviri Yea…i hear ya…making progress…so that’s good :)

    Erp.. didn’t save my settings, but I’m sure Sean will fix that soon, not a huge deal.

    Can we get a poll going. Using background apps or growl? For SMS.
