@Frogstik – I’m on a windows machine, so use Growl for Windows. You’ll find all the information you need there, or on the original Growl site if you’re on a Mac. I don’t know if there is an official port of Growl for Linux — try a quick search. Good luck!

Some other Cydia apps have achieved something like push, probably from a background daemon. It is not true push, but it acts the same. I’m using iLocalis, and it has a beta “push” feature. I get an alert every time one of my friends is near me. Other messages can be sent to the phone immediately from the iLocalis website. You might contact that developer, Antonio Calatrava, and find out how they do it.

I would totally go for a background daemon to get push SMS/Voicemail from Google Voice.

This was a nice move on your part. Hopefully this will send a clear message to at&t and Apple. Good Luck.

Don’t use rock your phone. You’ll lose customers. I’ll pay a premium for this if you start charging on Cydia Store, but I’ll never use it again if you go the RockApp route. Intelliborn already lost my future money. MyWi author too.
