Bad news bears

January 15th, 2010

So I’ve been working with Jay and Kyle for the past 3 hours or so trying to get everything squared away. We’re having some issues with the package (don’t want what happened with v1.22 to come back), but we’re going to hit it with fresh eyes in the morning. I know, life sucks, but we’re trying people. If I have to deliver this crap via flying around the damn country tomorrow, I will (the price will just go up….a lot). :)

    Don’t rush it, Sean… we can wait. The big question is, what’s the difference between the Apple and the Cydia one? Is there any?

    @Leo Marihart It’s all in how it saves data to the device. That’s it. I did change the icon, splash, and also had to rename it. It’s GV Mobile + on Cydia. I would have preferred GV Mobile Pro, but it was getting truncated.

    I’d rather wait longer rather than a buggy app ;)

    If we buy this on Cydia and it’s released later on the app store, will we have to buy it again or will you have some system in place for us to transition?

    I was hoping maybe the App Store version would be an update for people who already bought it before it was pulled :) Even if it’s not I’d rebuy it so I could unjailbreak my phone.

    @Kris Well I had an update with apple for 5 months and nothing happened. I submitted GV Mobile 2 as a new application. If you can get Apple to give it to you for free, I don’t mind. I really don’t think it will get on the store, but we can hope.

    @sean

    Yeah, I wasn’t counting on it either, GV Mobile was the reason I jailbroke so it’s just a nice fantasy at this point. Thats why I’ll be buying it from Cydia the moment it hits and not holding my breath for the App Store version.

    A quick couple of questions before I grab the new version..

    #1 – Can the previous version remain installed when installing the new GV Mobile+?

    #2 – In the SMS screen, is there still a limit to the amount of SMS conversations it will load? The previous (free) version limited it to 15 conversations (I believe.)

    Thanks for the update & for all your hard work!
