GV Mobile + v2.1.55 available

May 25th, 2010

This update utilizes the new data feeds for Google Voice. It will be much faster since there is less overhead.

    Sean, I am having some issues with GV plus, the update. I bought the app, now I’m trying to do the update and it’s not going through. I’m getting an genuine error after app starts up and for some reasons, I cannot re-download the app via cydia. It’s showing purchase instead of install. I really need to have it working, I’m getting pissed off and I’m thinking of calling it quits. Hope that there’s a solution soon. Thanks

    If Cydia says purchase, then how did you get the update?

    @tyler Be honest, I’m not sure. I’ve been working on + for a bit. It would be free for Cydia…

    I have spent the last 3 hours trying to find GV in cydia. I have looked under modmy i repo also. Last week it stopped working, so I deleted it so that I can download again. Help please!!!!!

    @Chad Are you letting Cydia reload the data? Maybe you can try removing modmyi repo and re-adding it. I just use the Search tab..type GV and there she blows.

    I just updated it. Bought it a week after + was out and never did I need to reinstall, reenter my credentials, or anywhere along those lines. The two times Google messed up, I just waited it out.

    Actually I like how + is now (all in one, not separated SMS).

    Oh wait I should’ve made it clearer. I need to reenter my details after every update. No other time. Anyway to fix this btw :)

    I’ll work on that problem. :)

    Having problems updating. I have purchased GV Mobile + through the App Store (when it was there) and Cydia. I had version 2.0.10 (I think?) going into this update. I never received an update notice for the most recent update through the Changes screen on Cydia. I went looking for the update when I went to use GV Mobile + and it didn’t work due to the changes Google has made.

    I found the update by searching Cydia. The search came back with 2 listings for GV Mobile+: the new update 2.1.50 which from Modmyi and the version I had from unknown source. I tried installing the 2.1.50 version which Cydia indicates as “Package Officially Purchased” and got a size mismatch. I then uninstalled the 2.1.10 version and tried again to install the 2.1.50 version and still got a size mismatch error.

    Please help.

    @sean thank you! The new version is so much better, but there is a small issue with SMS view. If it is set to startup in SMS, I would not be able to interact with the list of text messages or the refresh button until I switch to another view and back.

    Aside from that, great job. I feel like my money was very well spent and wouldve paid more :p

    @Jeff The reason your getting size mismatch is because your Cydia is not seeing the new v2.1.55. You need to let the “Reloading Data” screens finish. It’s basically not syncing with ModMyI correctly to get the new version info.

    @Tony Good catch.

  18. May 27th, 2010 at 09:56

    @Tony Actually, email me. This shouldn’t happen…

    @sean Exact same thing happening to me as well. GV+ starts in “SMS” view and no reload of data appears to occur. If I go to “Voicemail” then back to “SMS,” the data loads and I can then touch messages.

    Actually trying it now, I had the same thing happen if it started in “Voicemail.” It updates the “badge” on the “Voicemail” button, but the actual screen data does not change and I cannot touch anything. So it’s not just starting on SMS…it’s starting anywhere.

    For the record, “Open to Tab” is set to “Last Selected” and “Data Sync” is set to “Startup On-Demand.”

    @sean

    Sean, thanks for the reply. I’ve tried to remove http://apt.modmyi.com/ and reinstall it. I can’t add it for some reason. Is there anyway to add gvmobile again without that specific source repository? I’ve even went to search and typed in gv and nothing comes up.

    hi sean,

    thanks for the app…i was using gv mobile but just switched to the ‘+’ version and added prowl/growl to push notifications and it works great. my only request….if you can get push notifications straight from your app in a later edition, is is possible to also have a ‘quick response’ button so as not to have to quit whatever is running and open gv? i love that feature with the native sms and would like it even more with gv! thanks
