GV Mobile + v2.3.0525 available

May 26th, 2011

This update brings limited iPad support and should take care of the chronic crashing experienced by some.

    i just downloaded the newest version today and i can ‘t get connection o my gv account i keep getting error” connection porblem invalid response from google (level0). what do i need to do here i tired over 3g and over wifi no luck.. remove and reinstall no luck..

    Sean, perfect app. Loving it. Any possibility of adding additional notification sounds, such as the standard ones on the iPhone? How about different vibration patterns so that I can tell the difference between an email or a google voice text when my phone is silent in my pocket, for example?

    first off, thx much for following thru with converting it into a universal app. i’m sure the experience will improve over time, but a pressing bug issue with the iPad version:

    dialer is messed up if opened while viewing an sms message; it pops up to take over the whole screen in both portrait and landscape and there’s no way to close it as the icon disappears and there’s no back button. the only way is to close the app and kill it from fast app switching and starting over again.

    the dialer works fine at the folder level though… it only goes south when viewing a text message.

    otherwise, it works great aside from a couple of dialog pages in settings showing up poorly formatted, specifically when choosing a callback phone with custom app. aside from the formatting issue, it still functions.

    as for the iPad UI, once you’re able to get around to it, id like to suggest enlarging the buttons at the 4 corners and consider making the popup folder navigation menu a full time pane on the left while in landscape and portrait mode. however, just for portrait, maybe splitting it horizontally so the upper left is folder navigation, lower left is message previews, while the larger right pane displays the full conversation/voicemail transcriptions indiscriminately.

    just some ideas to help make the iPad UI more efficient through future updates. but thanks again for the continued dedication and willingness to incorporate your customers’ ideas.

    @oakie This goes back to the limited iPad support. I didn’t have time to fully covert everything over since there was some crashing issues that came up…look for the next update to fix things.

    Sean, let me just say that I have had no problems with the new GV Mobile + since you first brought it out. (Oh, there was that initial weird glitch with the notifications, but once I changed my set up, it has worked flawlessly.) Through all he recent frequent updates, it has always worked like a champ for me. Thank you for one of the most functional and attractive apps on my iPhone.

    @Paul Paul – This is because your account isn’t setup fully. Go to the Google Voice website on the computer and it will prompt you to add a number to the account. Do this and you’ll be fine.

    So far GV Mobile does not do anything better than std. GV . I would like to return it and get a refund.
    I do not see any refund policy on Sean Kovacs web site.

    Ok, got mine set up to notify me :) and I see how it works at sending pictures, but how does it handle it if someone sends you one?

    @Windowman It works the same if the other person is using GV Mobile…doesn’t work if they send via normal cell phone methods (Google Voice limitation).

    Hi Sean, I see that in the app details it says ”Only available in the United States” Well I live in Canada, and so Im guessing i wont be able to make calls to canada. Google voice on the computer lets you call to the US and Canada for free. Will it also work on this app? and if not, will you ever realease a version that will let you call to Canada? Thanks

    @samwest7 My app has always allowed people in the US to call Canada and all international countries using Google Voice…not sure what the problem is…?

    Alright cool. And there isnt a problem i just wanted to ask if it does work in canada because in the app details it says only available in the u.s. I’ll be sure to try it out later today when i have the time, thanks a lot

    Hi Sean. I bought the app, and i am not able to make calls, I am from Canada, is this why it does not work? The app says i need to use a call forwarding number and things like that and it does not accepte my number, is it because I’m from Canada, If it will not work you could of clarified to me that it wouldn’t work.     My GV App crashes a lot, that I can’t even open it. I don’t understand what’s going on but it will be nice to have my app up and running, o use this app a lot. Please let me know what’s going to happen. I’m also testing the the new IOS beta.

    @Jean Apple advises not to install the beta OS onto a production phone for this reason…it’s unstable. There is nothing wrong with the app.

    Hey sean I tried pirating this app and kept getting the level 0 error so after reading through some posts I realized I’d have to purchase the app. So I deleted it and purchased the app and now I am getting a level 3 error. What does this mean?
