Sean, update is working great. No crashing whatsoever. Any chance for a date/time stamp on each message as opposed to just certain groupings? Maybe an option to allow this?

As development is slowing down with GV Mobile, I’ll have to evaluate all additions with care, taking into account time required vs. value added. I’ll add it to the list. Just being realistic with you. :)

With SMS Grouping enabled (which I LOVE), it would be great if the swipe to archive feature would archive the whole group. Now, it just archives one part, then the remainder shows back up after a refresh. It is kinda awkward… Thanks!

I receive the following error when attempting to login/authenticate the first time:
“Connection problem. Invalid response from Google (Level 0).”

Sean, Do you have Text-to-speech for SMS and Push notifications in your road map?
I recently bought the app from APL and I love it.

    Thanks.

Most likely not. Apple already has this built in to the system (under Accessibility in Settings\General).

I think what would be good would be to put out a list of all the enhancements you receive and put a vote counter on it if possible. With that said can I put a request to have auto dial as an available option so I don’t have to press call when I select a contact NOT from my contacts list. Shortens the number of presses I have to do especially when I’m on the road on my bluetooth.

    Hey Sean,

I just tried calling with offline dialing, but my Google Voice account requires a PIN to access the menu for the voicemail and dialing. So I realized that GV Mobile currently only supports calling out offline without a voicemail PIN, but is there any chance that in the future this will be supported? Because as it is right now, offline dialing is broken for me, and there’s no way I’m going to let my voicemail have access without any PIN.

Nevermind, found the setting buried under the accounts screen and under the account.

My wife and I both use this. Just yesterday the notifications stopped arriving – I did upgrade yesterday – wondering if this is an issue with the updgrade or with email from appspotmail.com ?? anyone else see this issue?

Sean, Friendly reminder is it possible for you to implement some sort of blank home screen if someone enters the wrong passcode? My friend has an app called MCleaner anytime you enter wrong passcode it brings up fake home screen and none of his profiles or contact list appear. This is a precaution he has in place for nosy individuals

Sean, is there any way to alter the ringtone used for inbound text? (OTHER than jailbreaking and replacing the TriTone ringtone.)

I’m missing it if there is. Thanks.

Hi Sean, i have been using GV Mobile + for more than a year now, and i truly love it. With recent new global lower rates from Google Voice, i started calling India (+91) code, and noticed that even if my contact has complete phone number stating with +91 (e.g. +91-1746-xxxxxx) international dialing code including +, the app does not dial using +, and it dials the number without the + sign.

This is resulting in a number as 911 to Google Voice and are rejected by Google Voice. However if i manually enter the same number using +, the call gets thru.

Would really appreciate if you could fix this in next release. Thanks

    • August 12th, 2011 at 17:24

Are you using offline dial method? I can see this happening during the method, but the others are controlled by google. Send me a follow up email.

Thanks for your quick response, I am using call back method, not offline. You can try yourself by adding a iPhone contact with a number +91-1746-xxxxxx, once you select this number from contacts, the dial screen on top will have the entire number except the + sign. This will appear to Google that you are trying to dial 911 (first three digits) and it wont let you. However if u try entering the number yourself (instead of selecting from contacts saved number) using + at the beginning of the number, it will go thru fine. You can send me an email if you want me to try something else.

    Hi Sean,

I just got the GV mobile+ for my Iphone 4 and I love it. but I noticed a missing feature that is on the original google voice app. for example while using the original google voice…anytime a call comes in on my google voice number. the incomming message is picked up with the google voice apps and so I was able to differentiate call comming in on my real number and my google voice number. Is there anyway to enable this on GV mobile+. I have tried different settings but no luck. pls help cos I am using this apps on my work cell and I really need to differentiate when I get a call from work.

    • August 21st, 2011 at 00:12

I think you emailed me, but there is a CallerId setting on the website that you can set so it will show your GV # always (instead of who’s calling).

First of all thanks for the quick tech supports this weekend. Everything is woking great. GV Mobile+ is definately a much better app than the official Google Voice app.

I would like to make a suggestion. Not sure if it’s been asked before. Would it be possible to add a signature feature. So GV Mobile + can automatically insert a quick signature at the end of every SMS.

I’m having issues using the “Direct Dial from this phone” call method. It’s worked for the past 6 months or so but the latest update appears to have broken it for me. No matter what I try (including reinstalling the app), every time I try to switch to direct dial mode the app tells me “In order to use direct dial, this phone needs to be added as a call forwarding number to this google voice account…” I have tried un/reinstalling the app, deleting the entry for my iPhone in google voice and re-adding the number, but none of this has worked.

    Any ideas?

    • August 21st, 2011 at 00:13

Sam, delete the app and reinstall it. When it prompts for your iPhone #, enter it carefully.

    Hi Sean,

does gv mobile+ support dialing out through voip apps like talkatone?

    • August 21st, 2011 at 00:14

YES! And Skype and any other app that wants to join the party. GV M+ even allows you to add other apps yourself, instead of waiting for updates.

Does Google Voice need to be installed also in order to notifications in GV mobile+ when a text comes in?

I am using the latest version of GV Mobile+ on my IPHONE and IPAD2. Great product. When a text text message comes in the sender info is not displayed. It just says “GV Mobile+ You have a new message”. Phone calls get identified but not text messages. This occurs on both devices. How do I fix that?

    Thanks, Fran

Sean, your app is awesome. I’ve been using it without problems since Apple let in the App store. Just the other day, though, it started crashing every time I opened the app. It would start to load the inbox and then fail on my Verizon iPhone 4. I’ve reset the phone but it is still happening. Anything I can try short of reinstalling?

Sean, can’t get a call method entered. Using ipad1, first two options are grayed out. So, won’t move forward. When I enter area code in settings, it crashes.

Ok, think I got the first part. Two step selection, expand an option to make selection within then go back and make sure that category has been checked. So, it functions now. But it still will randomly close down if I edit preferences.

    • September 6th, 2011 at 16:56

Only methods for iPad are call back and other dialer. The first two are greyed out because it’s not an iPhone.
