@keegan… I just tried mine again which was not working… and i was able to refresh in gv mobile, but like Sean said because of the crappy ATT network the application times out after 10 seconds. He put in a fix to up the timeout to 120, but I have not seen it yet in Cydia. So depending on the quality of your service as of right now will determine if it works or not…

Just seen an updated version of GVMobile+ v2.1 on Rock. I had v2.0.2-1 but after installing the update it now shows v2.1. Im not sure if mine worked before the update on Wifi only. But I just checked and v2.1 is working for my on 3G (not wifi).

Just thought I would share.

I have the app and it will not let me dail out don’t know if I need to do something different. It just does not complete calls

if anyone can tell me how 2 get the app to be able to dial out i will be very thankful munkiboi001@gmail.com it just acts as if it is dialing then stops

Thank You for the GV mobile via Cydia..All works well, but I cannot get outbound calls to work. I tried the web version as well and outbound is working… Why?

To show support for this app, I bought GV Mobile+ even though I was totally happy with GV Mobile. The truth is, I am still using GV mobile because GV Mobile+ does not support groups. When you choose a group in you contact list, go to GV Mobile+, you’ll be stuck in that group, there is no button to go up one level. GV Mobile doesn’t have that problem, so I am stuck with using the old GV Mobile.

KEWL! Just downloaded GV Mobile+ and outbound calls work for me and texting works. Would like to have sounds for text incoming and outgoing. anyway to do this?? Have not fully tested on Edge network but so far it ROCKS! Well worth the $2 even if I just use for texting.

I am very happy with GV and the GV Mobile application. Works great for SMS.

The BAD: I cannot make outgoing calls? Why is this … when a number is dialed, it just stops, call fail. This would make for a good tool, if outbound calls worked. Any ideas?

sean and the guys! thanks a million for this app. but, is there anyway you guys can add some txt messaging notification, so we know when we got a txt messages?

I keep getting the Signing in message, but my SMS and Voicemails dont show up. The settings are fine. This is both via a wifi connection and my ATT connection. Any ideas???

since yesterday can’t use gv mobile in my iphone dont even cant see history, voicemail etc.

Yes, for sure Google changed something on their end and Sean will need to update the application.

While it’s certainly not as slick as GV Mobile +, you can still access Google Voice on the iPhone by visiting http://google.com/voice in the browser. Google has recently redesigned their iPhone Web App and it may get you through until Sean gets an update released…

Everything is working fine for me with GV Mobile+.

Mine broke last night as well, looks like it may be an change to the authentication protocol/method… Hope it gets fixed..

@Anthony Set google voice to send a copy of the text messages to an email account that has push. Its ghetto but at least when you get a txt you can set your email to chirp at you and let you know. I use a dummy yahoo account for only sms from GV..

I hope the app gets updated soon…if I cant dial out or sms by the end of the weekend I will be getting rid of ATT and the POS iphone.

Well, got it to work. Log in via the web client (safari) and it seemed to start working…

FOR SOME REASON I HAVING PROBLEMS WITH LOG IN IN TO MY IPHONE, IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZED THE CREDITS TO LOG IN AND WHEN I DO THE SAME THING ON THE COMPUTER WORKS FINE.PLEASE HELP

i’m logged in to gvoice on safari but app is stuck on flashing ‘please wait…signing in’

when logged in to your GV safari, make sure you check “remember password” or something like that..

Every I open the program it says it looks like its my first time running it and I have to put my username and password in. I have the free version for now to see how much I like it. Also if I click on voicemail history or sms the app just closes.

Good call, does appear to be cookie related. Mines seems to work for a couple days or so before caching out. Is there a way to modify cookie persistence setting on the phone?

When I am looking at the settings, GV+ doesn’t show any phones forwarded to, the web site says that I have my iphone set up as a forwarded phone. This isn’t really a big deal but it is vexing.

I just purchased GV Mobile+ and it doesn’t show any of my forwarding numbers and also the phone to ring contains only my cell number, when I try to add more numbers it says “invalid number” even though they are already in the list if I check look through safari. I cannot also place any calls and it gives me that error page with possible reasons 1,2,3 including that the call has to be placed from a forwarding number which I cannot set! I’m stuck please help.

I wonder if having two web apps for Google Voice (Google’s web app and Black Swan’s Voice Central) will show Apple the error of their ways, that they can’t keep people from using Google VOice, and if they will finally approve GV Mobile for the app store. GV Mobile has an advantage over both in that you can access your contacts directly on the phone, something that neither web app can do.

I love the time and effort you put in for a quality product, Sean. The app is wonderful but I would like to offer you some feedback. I actually choose to use the Google Voice web app via Safari on my iPhone over your GV Mobile app and here’s why… The main reason is that your app calls your phone and you have to answer to initiate the call. The Google Voice web app opens the “Call” dialog box after which when you hit it, it dials immediately through the native Phone app and it’s actually faster than dialing through GV Mobile. For some reason, when I’m dialing a number, I don’t like it dialing me or initiating an incoming call, I want it to dial out. This fact makes it seem unfinished and generic to me. If you could fix it to where it dials out directly without the intermediary of any interaction with further key presses, you would have a solid winner on your hands and it would be worth any price paid for it.

I bought the GV mobile + less than a week ago, worked fine until today. It will not place a call now and displays possible reasons of which don’t apply since I can still make a call vie the web.

Google has changed things behind the scenes (javascript/urls/cookies etc). That is why GV Mobile is not working. GVMax also cannot send SMS at the moment. Sean if you would like to join forces in figuring it out send me an email.

I can confirm I also have the ‘signing in’ problem.
What should I do?

Looks like there are some issues with GV Mobile currently. While it appears to login properly the settings screen no longer shows the mobile numbers that I can forward to. In addition, selecting any of the history tabs (SMS, voicemail, etc) and hitting refresh causes the app to crash. I’ve resprung my phone, updated everything from Cydia, confirmed that my login information is correct with Google voice and still no luck. It worked as recently as 2 days ago I believe

Yeah, what’s going on with my favorite app? I was able to use google voice manually (typing in the 10,000 numbers to make the call) so I reinstalled the app, still same error msg. Hopefully a fix is found cause I <3 google voice!!!!…

So I just JB’d my iphone and added the gv mobile app but it always crashes when pressing the sms and the other buttons and doesn’t allow calles to go through.
What’s the deal with this?

gv mobile is down right now. happened a couple days ago.

I am one of users of this great application.
but honestly im very sad that it no longer works from the date of 18/5
especially im outside the United States, this application benefit me a lot and I hope that Sean must find a solution to this problem.

Ive tried re-entering my username several times and password and its not working….please advise…

though it can be resolved by logging into safari, i still can’t make any calls or receive msgs with this app.
