This app does not work like it used to, There are serious issues. It seems to work using safari or Opera, I guess i will just use that from now on until there is a REAL fix.

Looks like there are some issues with GV Mobile currently. While it appears to login properly the settings screen no longer shows the mobile numbers that I can forward to. In addition, selecting any of the history tabs (SMS, voicemail, etc) and hitting refresh causes the app to crash.

This is exactly what has happened to me, both GV Mobile and GV Mobile+. I think Google changed something on their end like API’s or something an that is why this app isn’t working.

There is an update up, I installed it through Rock (though I purchased in Cydia, so purchase history must transfer somehow?). Everything is working fine again.

This issue of nothing working started on Monday night, after I updated my contacts in google voice (thru my pc), deleted some sms, and voicemessages. I thought I did something wrong!

Redownload/update through cydia. Worked for me

When is the FREE version fix going to come out? I’m having trouble using the apps, not able to do anything with it!

Sadly, the latest version (5/21) does not keep any history. So, if you send an sms, it goes out, then everything disappears – the sms screen remains blank.

Also, when receiving an sms, it gets pushed to the iPhone screen, but then it does not show in the GV Mobile + app.

I can’t even get in cydia anymore, keeps crashes before it fully loads. and I don’t have rock. How can I delete cydia and reinstall. Help. thanks.

Since apple allows that, I think Sean could take out the phone and voicemail part of gv mobile, and just have the sms portion of the app, then apple would accept the app in the appstore!

Bump, nice app please fix. Willing to donate once working version is out. Please, keep information free and allow people to donate as they wish. I’d be more than willing to buy lunch or dinner for the late nights of coding.

I used GV Mobile before it arrived to the App store. Purchased it before it was removed from the App store. And just purchased the GV+ version from Cydia to show my support for your hard work.

Thank you for this great app. I use it all the time I have GV + version 2.1.50. It is giving me a error message that says “an error occurred while trying to establish a connection with Google Voice” How do i fix this problem any help will be appreciated thank you.

Unfortunately this app is showing serious issues that really need to be addressed. The app states that it is signing in however, it does otherwise and shows a blank screen that contains no previous texts. This only occurred recently. I paid for the GV Mobile+ so I am very disappointed at this point.

yea this app isnt working for me anymore either. it signs in on every option i use ie sms or voicemail…but doesnt send sms at all

I have GV Mobile + on my iPod Touch, but it won’t call my cell when I’m using WiFi. It pops up a message that I need to select a phone to ring and to turn on offline dialing. I did both and still nada…

I have downloaded app from cydia and its giving me an error “magic Key Error”

Sean thanks for the great app. I can have the gv mobile call my cell, my home number and even my sipgate number through Acrobits Softphone but I cannot get it to call my Gizmo number through Softphone or the softphone from Gizmo5. I can dial from google voice page and have it ring my gizmo5 number through both softphones but it will not work when i use GVM to ring to those. Any ideas? Thanks

There are two versions in Cydia: GV Mobile (buggy) and GV Mobile +(works). You have to pay for GV Mobile +, though.

I got EXACTLY the same thing. Hitting SMS tab seems to still work but the other two (History and voice mail) Just crashes it.
Anyone know why this is and if there is a way to fix it.

Is there a way to open GV Mobile when hitting Reply from the text notification popup?

Also, I have set GV Mobile to “Interval” updating, but it still does not show new voicemail and messages until I start the application.

Recently I bought an iPad 3g sim and was able to activate it without an iPad and play around with it in my iPhone 3gs. I changed the APN settings in the iPhone and now have unlimited data on my jailbroken iphone 3gs. I wanted to somehow use my google voice number to make unlimited calls. I have a gizmo5 account and right now I use the GV mobile to call my gizmo5 number. Right now the SMS, voicemail, and everything else work fine but i can’t make the call to my gizmo5 number. Going to the web and doing it works fine. Why is that?
Also that requires me to swtich from safari to fring (my sip client for gizmo5). Changing apps all the time has become quite a hassle. I was wondering if there was an all in one app that functions as a GV client as well as a SIP client that way when making a call I dont have to switch apps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sean, the new GV version 1.55 has lots of bugs and crashes constantly. I am unable to view the “History” or click on the “Voicemail” tab at the bottom as it will crash the GV app right away.

Is the 2.60 version compatible with 3G’s on 4.0 beta because I can’t open crashes before it opens, please help?

thanks for making this, its a great app. I’m using an iphone 3g running iOS 4 and the most up to date GV mobile free, and wanted to report history and voicemail crash the application. everything else works perfectly. I’ve tried with and without auto refresh, doesn’t matter.

I am having issues like the ones that I have read here. These cropped up in the past few weeks and I figured that there would be something in the works to fix it.

I have reinstalled the app but this did not fix the problem. I have also recently updated to IOS 4 and redid the jailbreak. I still cannot use this app.

I am running the previous version (1.55 I think) and would like to know if upgrading to the purchased version will solve the issues.

Everytime I click history or voicemail I crash back to springboard. Using free version.

Wow. I was just going to purchase the + version since the old free one started crashing but looks like it works just as bad…

Seems as if the author of this wonderful app is a bit busy… so I will ask any users of the current + version if they are all having the same problems?

I can confirm that both GV Mobile and GV Mobile + are crashing. I am on 3.1.2 on a 3GS. I can get it to remember my credentials by setting them, then exiting the program. Then when reentering the program I can load SMS history and save that history again by exiting. History and Voicemail will crash the app and any changes made during that session will be lost.

I am using a jailbroken iphone 3gs on tmaobile. I bought the GV mobile = app, and now it is not working… it will not “sign in” any help?

@Josh If by “you” you mean Sean, then no, not a chance. He’s already abandoned this project because of Apple’s sh**ty policies. But if your GV account is tied to a Gmail address, it’s pretty easy to do:
1) Tell GV to forward SMS messages to your Gmail 2) Download the TextFree App and create a username 3) Create a filter in Gmail to forward all messages from Google Voice to @textfree.us, optionally marking as read and archiving if you don’t want them in your inbox. Works for me.

…should be “username@textfree.us” – not sure what happened there. And for what it’s worth to other users, I’m running GV Mobile+ 2.1.60 on iPhone 3G 3.1.2 and I get an app crash about once every 12 launches or so…not that I’m keeping track. Other than that, the app works just great.

I bought gv +, yeah i bought it, and guess what.
I haven’t even explored anything, all I got from the app is the page “GV MOBILE” and it crashes after 4 seconds.
Sometimes after 5 seconds when I beg on my knees.
Anyone have the same problem? Crashing before it opens? HELP PLEASE
P.S. Already remove/reinstall/repeat about 5000 times.

yeh, the GV mobile plus is NOT working. The older version works to call and receive call, also txt. but history and voicemail are NOT working.

I purchaced this app a couple of months ago and due to an FW upgrade I was unable to jailbreak my phone until now to get it back and now I can not when I try it states host unreachable. whats up

I too purchased this not too long ago, and now that the i4 is jailbroken, get the same host unreachable error. I also got a size mismatch, and when looking at the Cydia detail info screen, there is a database connection error that is shown.
