    I can only find v1.55 on Cydia and Rock. Anyone know how to find a newer version?

    I bought this app, GV Mobile+ and have upgraded to a 3GS running iOS4. But Rock won’t let me download it, saying it’s unavailable. What’s up? Can you help me load the app? It’s badass and I want to use it.

    I am getting the same errors too.

    Last night I decided to download the free version to see if that works. It worked, I was able to download it, but on my 3G running iOS4.0.1 it barely works!

    It asks me to re-enter my username & password every time I open the app, and clicking on history crashes it.

    I’m afraid to purchase the plus version if this one is acting the way it is. Any thoughts on that?

    Finally, jailbroken my iPhone 4 on 4.01 and installed GV Mobile+ v2.1.60. It works GREAT!!! Thanks Sean. Now if we can only update the graphics used in GB Mobile so it’s display high res on the Retina display, it would be perfect!!! :)

    Thank you!

    I just purchased GV Mobile + and all the issues I mentioned in my last comment have been addressed. HIGHLY recommended!

    What is the setting to used to put in ‘Phone to Ring’ – what is that? I wish there was a guide.

    Also, I keep getting magic packet error even after i logged in Safari.

    I just purchased GV Mobile + and can not log in. An error pops up that says there was a problem retrieving my magic key. Does anyone know of a work around?

    Thanks.

    Hi, I have a jail broken phone and Cydia that I just got. I added the free GV Mobile and it keeps asking me for my user ID and password. It doesn’t give me any instructions. Everything I’ve tried punching in is rejected (I’m putting in a valid email address) and then I didn’t know what password – if it was supposed to be the email password or a new password…

    Can you help?
    Nina

    Hi, I have GV Mobile – the free version. However, I cannot get it to accept any user name and password. There doesn’t seem to be any instructions that I can access. I believe the user name is a valid email…

    Are you able to help me with this?

    Hey you need to enter your Google voice email and password. GV stand for Google Voice therefore it need your Google voice credentials

    First day use GV Mobile+. Does GV Mobile have or will you add the feature in late? When dialing a number, the GV mobile always asks me to press answer key to start the call. Can I configure it to directly make calls without press the “Answer” key?

    I’ve tried purchasing GVM+ via PayPal, but failed. Logging into PayPal independently works fine, but getting there via the purchase attempt invariably yields a failed PP login. I’ll assume it’s a Cydia issue, but in case anyone here has run into that: I’m on a 3GS, running 4.0.1 liberated by jailbreakme.com

    Any helpful suggestions would be welcome.

    I’ve used GV successfully in the past, but today things don’t appear to be working. It think my google login is invalid, but I am still able to log in to voice online. Has google voice authentication changed somehome?

  23. Jeff
    August 6th, 2010 at 16:55

    @bill In the settings, select Offline Dialing

    @Tito I haven’t been able to use GV Mobile+ for the last 2 days either…it kept going to Signing in… and then it erased all my history. I tried removing and readding my account but it gave me an error about retrieving my Magic Key

  24. Jeff
    August 6th, 2010 at 17:15

    @Tito After searching around a bit, I found a solution. I logged into Google Voice through Safari and sent an SMS message. Then I switched back to GV Mobile+ and it worked fine

    August 7th, 2010 at 08:59

    @Helpster
    Enter the phone number you want to ring when placing a Google voice call or when someone calls your Google Voice number. It could be your cellphone you’re using GV Voice on or a home phone, office phone…etc. Hope this helps.

  26. August 7th, 2010 at 15:57

    In case someone else is wondering. If you turn on “Google Multiple Account Sign On”, GV Mobile + will not be able to sign in making it non-operable. Simply turning the multiple sign on back off will fix problem with the app.

    Sean. Excellent app. Thank you for all your hard work. If possible: please provide an option in settings to disable pin entry. You can tell GV to skip entry of the pin every time in the advanced settings to save time (convenience). It would be nice to keep your app from doing the same. Simply because the worst part about using GV Mobile is the wait, while it slowly dials the numbers.
    Additionally, being able to dial the numbers faster, and provide the ability to skip the > 10 second wait at the end of the dialing sequence would be huge. I know you reported that apple does not provide ability to program #’s but a workaround would make this incredibly helpful and save time for me and many others Im sure. Thanks again.

    I purchased GV Mobile + and Cydia would not download it, saying http://apt.modmyi.com was unreachable. It was reachable by my computer, so I’m not sure what’s wrong. After 20 attempts and a number of reboots, I logged in via SSH and typed:
    # apt-get install com.seankovacs.gvmobileplus

    This was successful, but no icon showed up on the Springboard. So I went back to Cydia (which now indicated GV Mobile + had been installed) and selected Modify->Reinstall. This failed, but the icon appeared. Everything works correctly now.

    But not having push notifications blows. I’m spoiled by Android’s Google Voice app.

    New user here..iPhone 3GS. Been using the Google Voice mobile website thru Safari via a desktop “webapp” icon. I thought it would be an improvement, but GV Mobile+ seems way wonkier. The callback method works OK, but I hate doing it that way. “Offline Dialing” doesn’t really work as the recording asks for my PIN on each call…what’s up with THAT?

    I love having direct iPhone Contacts access. My Google contacts are synced to those, but scrolling through them is a pain at the website.

    $1.99 isn’t much but it’s too much for an app I’m not going to use.

    Google obviously isn’t cooperating with Sean on this as the webapp dialing is via a completely different method…a combination of web data and an access number that takes two button pushes and dials/connects just about as fast as a normal phone call.

    Good luck in the future.

    I just purchased this app. Under settings, do I need “Offline Dialing” enabled or disabled? What are the pros and cons?

  31. johnnytucats
    August 13th, 2010 at 23:41

    @fleeper
    For me, there are no “pros” if it’s enabled. It just doesn’t work. The phone dials your GV number, pauses, dials “2″ (for an outgoing call), then dials the number you’re calling. The problem is that the first thing that happens, after the GV number is dialed, is the recording asks for your PIN, which it doesn’t get. So, no calls go through!

    Have you ever used Google’s webapp on the phone?

  32. Jeff
    August 14th, 2010 at 14:53

    @johnnytucats
    You can do one of two things…change your GV settings so it doesn’t require a PIN, or change your GV Mobile+ settings so that it knows that you do need it.

  33. fleeper
    August 15th, 2010 at 06:56

    @johnnytucats
    I have used the webapp. It’s okay but I like having all of contacts in the real app better. I had an android phone for a little while (between 3gs and ip4)and I really liked the GV experience on the phone. I hated the phone (very laggy) but I would like something that could replicate that experience.

  37. Jeff
    August 16th, 2010 at 11:51

    @Anonymous
    You don’t sign up for GV Mobile. You sign up for Google Voice at voice.google.com and then you buy GV Mobile+ through Cydia for use on your iPhone

  38. Anonymous
    August 17th, 2010 at 01:13

    When dialing out with GV Mobile+, is it still using the old method where Google Voice routes your call by making an incoming call to your phone? Or does it do it the new way where it makes an actual phone call from your phone to a Google call center (which then routes the call)?

  39. johnnytucats
    August 17th, 2010 at 07:15

    @Anonymous
    GV Mobile uses the “old method” you describe and also automates the other old method of dialing your own GV number, entering the pin, entering “2″ (for an outgoing call), then dialing the number…the entire process takes almost 50 seconds!

    Either method has access to your iphone’s contacts, which is the redeeming factor.

    It does not use the “new” method you describe. That is currently available through the mobile GV website only.

    I have my Mac’s Address Book sync’ed with my Google Voice account, so the mobile GV website with the “new” method is still my preferred way of using GV, even though I bought GV Mobile+.

    I purchased 2.1.60 because I thought that I would get push SMS via google voice. But, I found that when I receive a SMS to my google voice number, there is no notification on my phone to alert me that I’ve received a SMS. Unfortunately, this makes my purchase sort of useless. Can you please do something to address this? It would be very much appreciated.

  41. Anonymous
    August 18th, 2010 at 15:40

    @Speed

    Agreed. The only way to get a notification is to set the update period to ‘interval’ which will check every 5 minutes to see if you have any new SMS, voicemail or missed calls. However, I worry about battery usage for this, and there’s no notification as to what the text is about.

    If i paid for the GVMobile app on itunes when it was briefly available, do i have to pay again to get off cydia? I only recently jailbroke my phone and I would really like my native google voice app I paid for.

    @Sean
    Sean – yes, you do have to pay for it again. Click on Sean Kovacs on the top of this page and he has already answered that question. Is it a bummer? Yes! Is it worth the $1.99 he is charging for it now? Absolutely!!! I have been using it since last year and he has definitely improved the program a ton since then.

    Hi, now that Google has rolled its VOIP service, would you be making changes to GV Mobile/GV Mobile+ to support VOIP calling from iphone?
