…how flakey Apple’s approval process is. The premium version got rejected! Ahh. The reason given…well, read for yourself: “we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because of the standard iPhone icon for “recents” may be confusing or misleading to iPhone users. Your “recents” icon only applies to recent calls made from your application, not to all recent calls made by the user. Please redesign your icon to be significantly different from the standard iPhone recents icon.”
Yea, that does sound weird. I’m looking for someone who has some videography under their belt and Google Voice. “What do these have in common?” you ask. A frickin’ video demo! I need someone to make a short (under 2 minutes) video demo highlighting the features of GV Mobile. This video demo will be featured on this site as well as others, so it must look half way decent.
A free copy of GV Mobile premium will be sent in order for said person to make the video and a promo code which entitles said person to download GV Mobile premium for free once it hits the App Store. Please email me if you’re interested! Please include a portfolio of your works in the email (links to videos you made, etc).
UPDATE: Thank you to all that has responded. I have filled this position. Adam Weiss at http://www.adamweiss.net/ will be creating the official demo video of GV Mobile. Look for the video and more contests/giveaways in a couple days!
As promised, GV Mobile Free was just sent to Apple for approval and deployment to the App Store. GV Mobile Premium v1.1 is already in the works. ![]()
Enjoy the weekend gang…
While we ALL eagerly wait for GV Mobile to get approved, I figured I’d entertain you guys with a contest. Post the date you think GV Mobile will get approved in the comments section of THIS post. The first person who comes closest (down to the day) will get a promo code which entitles you to download GV Mobile premium for free. The promo code is only good for the U.S. iTunes store.
I see that there is some confusion on the pricing of the ‘premium’ version…I’ve only mentioned it in comments and such – my apologies. The ‘premium’ version will be set at $2.99 USD. The free version is in the works and should get to Apple by EOW.
UPDATE: The free version’s feature set will align closely with the highly rated GrandDialer app (RIP), in which it will be able to make calls via typing in a number or choosing a contact from the iPhone’s address book and allow for the storage of multiple phones to take the call on (user selectable).
I just got done submitting GV Mobile to Apple folks. Hopefully it move along quickly through the approval process. Here is some screen shot porn of GV Mobile for those interested:
Everything made the cut – even SMS! Hopefully Apple will approve it by the EOW, so you folks can get your GV Mobile on.
The GrandDialer feature set clone (free edition) will get submitted by EOW.
I don’t know about you guys, but my LCD does this screen shot no justice!
One step closer to the App Store! This should be the last beta pending any catastrophic failures. I have more great news – I’ve enlisted the help of Jacob to do the artwork for GV Mobile. Now your eyes won’t bleed while using the app. Muwahaha. J
Slowly but surely, I’m polishing up GV Mobile for its beta 2 release. I’m randomly adding more beta testers as well.
