4 Types of GV Mobile Users

April 25th, 2009

First Type: Hardcore Google Voice user that downloads GV Mobile, everything works fine out of the box. This person may leave a good review, or none at all.

Second Type: Hardcore Google Voice user that downloads GV Mobile, runs into some hiccups while using it, and gets help. Everything works out in the end; everybody is happy. This person may leave a good review, or none at all.

Third Type: Has a Google Voice account that they never use, but downloads GV Mobile anyway. This person runs into some hiccups while using it and never seeks support (email, comments, forums, etc). This person immediately heads over to leave a nasty review.

Forth Type: Competitor that downloads GV Mobile just to leave a nasty review.

I thought I would share this with my loyal followers. Love you guys/gals!

I do speak and fully understand the English language. I’d rather focus on features and functionality over grammar any day!

App Reviewer 007 and ColdFusion, email me or seek support so your issues get resolved. I’ve seen nothing from you so far.

GV Mobile not affected by Google Voice changes

April 23rd, 2009

GV Mobile will not experience any hiccups with the new changes Google has implemented. This only applies to applications using the DTMF method (dialing your GV # to make calls). Unfortunately, apps like GVDialer will cease to work unless they change the way they place calls.

The impact this does have to GV Mobile is the removal of an upcoming feature, ‘Offline Dialing’ which used this method. Apple prevents developers from sending a * or # sign to the iPhone dialer – so there is no way to dial your GV # and send the * required to enter in your PIN. Android, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile phone OS’s do not limit the developers this way. Hmmm ;)

Upcoming plans…

April 22nd, 2009

I will still pursue getting GV Mobile on to the App Store. Depending on the outcome, I may have to rename the product to start fresh. Until GV Mobile is approved, I have rejected the binary for GV Mobile Free so it doesn’t conflict with the paid version. Windows Mobile development will continue, albeit at a slower rate.

Added a forum

April 16th, 2009

I added a link on the right to the newly added forum. Here you can discuss…really whatever. I encourage it to be used to discuss new features or issues you may have with GV Mobile. Much better alternative than clogging up the comments section of each post. :)
