Looks like Apple/AT&T pissed off a lot of people…lol
Anyway, I’ll be releasing GV Mobile v1.2 on Cydia for free today or tomorrow, with an update coming in a couple weeks. Why free? People pirate it anyway, so why not. I do appreciate everyone that bought it – you are the ones that fueled this app to be what it is today. That doesn’t mean you have to go get a refund (because that would hurt me, not Apple).
Let’s put some pressure on Google to release the API for Google Voice! Then I can start doing some really cool shit stuff…
UPDATE: Complain to Apple @ http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Fantastic, Sean! I’m disappointed that this application wasn’t approved but feel good that you’re able to release it on Cydia.
@Diane
Diane,
Make sure that your Cydia is fully-updated. I just did the install, and there was no problem.
I downloaded the app through Cydia, but when I open the app and type my username and password an erro note that tel me it is incorrect, is there any place that I need to register first? please help.
Thank you.
For those of us that bought it through the App Store should we just delete it and download it via Cydia so that we get updates going forward? Pretty sure I know the answer is “yes”, but I thought I’d ask the dumb question.
FYI!!! This app was listed in the repo Cydia Community Sources. That repository wasn’t in my basic install, so after installing it, I found GV Mobile. I installed it and it works great. Thanks Sean!
A naive question perhaps. Will I lose the gv mobile app from my iPod Touch the next time I sync?
Very upsetting it that’s the case. I’ve really come to rely on it.
Sean,
Great job on this app, I am having great success with it. I would like to request a feature. If you could add a favorites tab like in the Phone application on the iPhone, then I could use Google voice to truly replace my phone. Keep up the good work!

Great job on the app, too bad your work improves the user experience on the iPhone so much. D-bag Apple boasts 50,000 apps available, but I suppose anything more useful then an iFart clone isn’t invited to the party.
Keep up the good work.
You are a god in wolves clothing
Definitely worth the $2.99! I love it. Glad to hear some updates are coming. (Also glad my phone is jailbroke.) I’ve only noticed a couple minor bugs when composing txt msg’s. Thanks for keeping this available and planning an update.
can u jailbreak a locked iphone
how do i get a username nd password?
Can this app be loaded on the ipod touch?
Thank you, I was planning on purchasing this from the apple store.
Thanks again.
I downloaded the app, and everything works great but as soon as I press sms it closes.
can we download it via another way beside Cinthy, if you make it available let me know I will be glad to pay for I heard that was a GREAT APP. Thanks for awesome work
Thank you very much, I love such a helpful post!
hi sean, first of all great app!!
i am using it on my jailbroken phone. i would like to report a few bugs
1. all my voice messages show 0.0 second, even though i can play them on the website, thus i can’t play them. when i try to delete, it crashes.
2. history tab – when i try to delete a number, it crashes
i am a beta tester for a few iphone products from ismart dialer to mcleaner.i will be happy to test your product for you.
hope to hear from you soon regarding my issues.

Why on earth would you allow an app onto your store and let people pay
for an app like G V Mobile and use it for many months then with no warning
yank it from the store and sight that it does the same thing that the preinstalled
iphone apps do. That is bull. There is no app or feature that is on a out of the box iphone that lets you use Google voice. Just because at&t does not like
that it lets uses send and receive free SMS and call for free well that is there
plan. for you as a hardware/software manufacture to pick and choose what apps people are able to use on the iphone. Do you pick and choose what programs i install on my imac? how about pick and choose what gas i put in my car???
Either be a hardware/software manufacturer or be the app police not both.
Then you wonder why Jailbrakeing a phone is still around. Gee it’s not because of
all the great apps on the apple store. It’s because of all the great apps that are not.
It looks like they changed some things on the back end to stop GV Mobile from working. Going on 3 days for me.. Anyone else seeing this?
